Dogs, Donkeys, Victims Of Common Wealth Games
veena | Oct 14 2009

The coming Common Wealth Games certainly has made Delhi and Central Government sit up and take stock of the situation, I mean the Home Minister Chidambaram suddenly realises that Delhites are lacking in common etiquette so he gives them a homily as to how they should pull up their socks and start behaving themselves so that they would be a cultured lot by the time we have foreign visitors.

I do not know about the rest but there is one section who has taken a serious view of this lesson. The beggars, they are taking classes so that they can beg in foreign languages obviously they will be getting more. The delegates will certainly be impressed. By the way there is a plan to shift the beggar population outside Delhi, after all a sight not good for the image you see.

The Delhi Government took stock of the situation and leaving the taming of humans to Home Ministry eyed dogs. Yes, the stray dogs who are a bane of every dwelling, it has taken up the mammoth task of neutering these dogs so that they do not harm anyone including visitors. At least the common Delhite will be thankful, We have already suffered a lot due to this menace.

The Government is also planning to sent the “Donkeys” outside Delhi. As per me it is impossible but let them try. The higher ups think they are traffic stoppers and an unpleasant sight, there are others who also do the same but no one is taking any action against them.

Next on the agenda should be the monkeys, making life hell for the poor office goers in South and North block. Every time they appoint a Langur to shoo off the monkeys but after some time things are back to square one with the Langur Owner raking in some moolah. May be this is the right time to get rid of this menace. We will surely be thankful.

I say why stop here if we are taking one step why not go the whole way, Diapers for pigeons and crows, maybe.
