Sumo, the Maltese Terrier is a depressed dog these days. He belongs to Jacques Chirac the ex-president of France who gave up his post in May 2007.
Now on retirement every one has to give up the perks with the post. President Chirac with everything else had to give up the Presidential Elysee Palace.
Sumo used to roam about in the large gardens of the president’s residence, everyone used to take care of his every need and he was a very pampered dog, but now he has to adjust in an apartment with his master, the ex French President Chirac.
As it is it was difficult for his human masters to adjust in the small space but it seems Sumo took it to heart. He hates living in a confined space, so as he cannot express his feelings in words sorry barks he thought of another way to draw attention, he used his teeth. yes he bit Chirac on stomach, and mind it , it was not the first time he had attacked Chirac twice before also.
As for latest attack, Bernadette, Chirac’s wife said that Sumo had been lying quietly at her feet but flew into a violent rage on the approach of her husband. The dog leapt up and nipped the former French leader in the stomach.
Sumo has been treated for severe depression and now he has been shifted to a farm, where he can roam freely.
It seems that Sumo blames French leader for his downgrading and that is why he attacked him. I never knew that even Dogs can be depressed, it is hard enough to deal with a depressed human.
